Squadron 188 was chartered in 1988 as a local unit of the Civil Air Patrol, a civilian voluntary auxiliary of the United States Air Force. Our primary missions are:
1. Emergency Services and Disaster Relief support for the San Francisco East Bay and Northern California.
2. Community Aerospace and Aviation Education.
3. Locating and securing active emergency beacons on ships and aircraft.
4. Homeland Security support as directed by state and local agencies.
