Die Confon AG ist ein mittelständiges Industrieunternehmen, das sich auf die Entwicklung, die Herstellung und den weltweiten Vertrieb von Schneeketten - Systemen unter der Marke "Spikes-Spider" und von qualitativen, hochwertigen Büroaccessoires unter der Marke "arlac" spezialisiert hat.
Im Jahr 1979 von Heiko Ippen gegründet, spezialisierte sich das Unternehmen von Anfang an auf qualitativ hochwertige Produkte aus Kunststoff. Dabei wurde neben der Produktion der Büroartikel wie Telefonregister, Klammerspender, Zettelboxen, Briefablageschalen unter der seit 1909 bekannten Marke "arlac" ein ganz neuer Bereich entwickelt: die erste mit Spikes besetzte Schneekette aus Kunststoff, die als Schneekette zugelassen ist - der Spikes-Spider.
Dieses Produkt wurde weltweit patentiert und ein neues Vertriebsnetz aufgebaut. Zahlreiche renommierte Automobilhersteller haben den Spikes-Spider in ihrem Programm.
