CPAU, the Co-operation for Peace and Unity, promotes the knowledge and awareness of peace, social justice, and human rights as the foundation of Afghanistan’s future development. Through local engagement and active peace building efforts, CPAU hopes to contribute to the creation of a viable and sustainable alternative to war and violence.
CPAU strongly believes that:
- Violence is not a solution to any problem
- Equal opportunities for women and men are imperative to enable active participation in all of the processes that affect their lives
- Mutual respect, tolerance, and constructive criticism are essential for meaningful development

CPAU builds, trains and supports Peace Councils, delivers education and workshops on human rights, women’s rights equality, conflict
