The Texas Hispanic Council On Aging (TXHCOA) formerly known as "The National Hispanic Council On Aging, NHCOAH) was founded in 1991 by Mr. Rafael Medrano with the assistance of Dr. Marta Sotomayor (1977 President and CEO of NHCOA based in Washington, DC)
The Texas Hispanic Council On Aging consisting of volunteers that serve as the catalyst for change and engage in a variety of activities that respond to the needs of Texan Hispanic Senior, and their families.
The perception of our seniors in our society has changed, within the last 55 plus years, we have witness the transition of services, and policies that pertain to them.
In our 23 years of serving the Houstonian Senior Community, we have attained a position as a front runner in this transformation, providing education, and connections to professionals service providers in multiple fields.
