珠海城市职业技术学院是由珠海市人民政府举办的全日制普通高等院校，2004年4月经省人民政府批准成立，并报国家教育部备案。2013年11月被广东省教育厅、省财政厅确定为为第三批广东省示范性高职院校立项建设单位。现任党委书记为党益群，院长刘华强，中国工程院院士、暨南大学原校长刘人怀教授为学院名誉院长。
学院坚持以高职教育为主体，继续教育、终身教育、开放教育为补充，创新政校企、行校企“双三元”互动,产学研协同的开放式办学模式，成为构建珠海学习型城市的重要支撑，在协同创新中建成高职特色名校。
学院现占地面积约361400平方米，基础设施完善，建有条件良好、设施先进的各类实验实训室、功能室，教学实训仪器设备总价值5146.537万元；图书资料32.6万余册。设有经济管理学院、国际合作与交流学院、电子信息工程学院、人文与社会管理学院、旅游管理学院、工业与艺术设计学院、机电工程学院、航空与海洋工程学院、思想政治理论课教学部、公共体育部、成教学院（珠海电大）等11个院部，开设了与珠海经济社会发展密切相关的36个专业。目前，各类在校生16000余人，其中，全日制高职高专学生6387人，各类非全日制成人学历教育在校生约9100人。
