郑州市第六人民医院前身为郑州市传染病医院，1953年9月1日在郑州市祭城郑县筹建“郑州市隔离医院”。1954年改名为“郑州市传染病医院”。1987年搬迁到郑州市南郊，更名为“郑州市第六人民医院。”46年来医院几经搬迁，经历了一个规模由小到大、专科由少到多，能力由弱到强，功能不断完善的发展过程，现又成为我省规模最大，设备齐全，收治传染病病种最多，集医院、科研、预防、保健、教学为一体的多功能暨现代化医院。近两年，医院先后荣获市级“文明单位”、“卫生单位”、“花园式单位”和“十佳医院”称号。
