Third Floor St James' Hall was established in 1997. In late 2009, an additional 5 members joined the floor taking the membership to a total of 15. Chambers now occupies two floors of the St James Hall building at 169 Phillip Street, opposite the Law Courts building and Sydneys oldest church, St James. The floor has one Queens Counsel and two Senior Counsel. The balance of the membership is spread across a range of seniority.
Whilst our members offer advocacy and advice in most areas of practice, members have particular expertise in commercial disputes and corporations law, public law, corporate insolvency and bankruptcy, administrative law, criminal law and building and construction. We take instructions from law firms large and small, whether in the city or the country. Members regularly take briefs from interstate and international firms and from both state and federal governments and their instrumentalities.
