Alliance Medical Ministry

Alliance Medical Ministry is a faith-led non-profit organization whose mission is to serve working uninsured adults of Wake County in need of affordable health care. Opened in January 2003, Alliance offers a primary care home to patients by operating on a private practice model. In 2010, Alliance completed 12,400 patient encounters and provides home for 8,000 patients. Alliance has been a pioneer in deploying electronic medical records and electronic practice management systems, enabling efficient management a growing patient population. Medical services include: • Primary care for chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension • Acute care for minor illnesses such as strep throat, pink eye and flu • Pharmacy dispensing prescription and over the counter medications • Disease management education and support programs Alliance programs result in improved health outcomes, efficient use of financial and staff/volunteer resources, and dignified patient care comparable to (and in many cases better than)
