Architects' Alliance is a lobbying and information group that speaks for architects disenfranchised by the Building Control Act 2007. A Private Member's Bill to add a Grandfather Clause to the Act was tabled by Deputy John O'Donoghue in June 2010. The Bill awaits a Second Reading and/or its referral to a government committee.
The European Union is investigating a related defect in the Act. A further possible defect is being considered by the EU and a related issue is presently under challenge in the United Kingdom.
Architecture, Design and Construction

Architects do not only design the building itself, but also the landscape around it, from how the building will be positioned on the plot and how it will interact with its surroundings.
