Art+com

In 1988 a group of artists, designers and developers in Berlin founded ART+COM. Sparked by the belief that the computer is not only a tool but also possesses the potential to become a universal communication medium, they set out to practically explore its artistic, scientific and technological aspects and to put these aspects to use. The spectrum ranges from artistic and design work through to technical developments. The goal has remained the same up to the present day: to think ahead in terms of what the future of media-based communication might bring. Being specialized in translating contents and themes into spatial formats, ART+COMs projects spans from interactive exhibits and installations to extensive media surfaces, immersive environments and kinetic sculptures. To highlight a few from the last years, the studio developed the medial design of the BMW Museum, Munich (2008) as well as the overall scenography and media installations for the permanent exhibitions “Level Green” (Volkswagen Autostadt 2009
