Bideawee, which means "stay awhile," in Scottish, is one of the country's oldest and most respected animal welfare and pet adoption organizations. Founded in 1903, Bideawee has been providing shelter, care and compassion to homeless animals, helping them to find their forever homes for more than 100 years.

Bideawee has three location to serve the residents of the metropolitan New York area. Bideawee’s office in Manhattan serves as a resource for the five boroughs, northern New Jersey, Westchester and Fairfield counties. Bideawee in Manhattan is home to an adoption center, animal hospital, Bideawee U, and volunteer programs.
