El Instituto de Ciencias Tecnológicas CIISA está dedicado a la formación de especialistas en el área de las Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicaciones.
Su historia comienza en 1975 como Centro de Informática e Ingeniería de Sistemas en Administración, capacitando a los profesionales en el incipiente campo de los Sistemas de Información, colaborando en su formación en los primeros programas de análisis de sistemas en el país.
En 1980 nace el Centro de Formación de Técnica CIISA en la formación de Técnicos de Nivel Superior en Programación Computacional.
Desde 1991 pasa a ser Instituto Profesional formando Ingenieros de Ejecución en Computación e Informática y el año 2000 incorpora las carreras de Técnico de Nivel Superior en Construcción y Administración de Redes e Ingeniería de Ejecución en Telemática. Ello permite al Instituto obtener la autonomía a partir del año 2006.
En la actualidad es parte de las Academias de Redes de Cisco, lo que le permite ofrecer como parte de su malla curricular
