Citizens Coal Council is a national nonprofit organization with the mission to inform, empower and work for and with communities affected by the mining, processing and use of coal.
What we do:
- Watchdog the coal industry and environmental government agencies that oversee mining;
- Provide a forum to exchange ideas;
- Serve as a vehicle for bringing issues before national policymakers;
- Monitor national regulations, policies and legal decisions;
- Serve as a mutual support group among coalfield leaders;
- Encourage strategic alliances to connect citizens to broader national environmental efforts;
- Continue our work to place major coal-related issues on the national radar screen
