Aerial mapping using UAVs has become available in the last decade become due to the advancements in aerial technology and software development. Civil Works Consulting Inc uses an Aeryon Labs Scout which has been used in several applications; Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Environmental Sensing, Oil and Gas Inspection, Private Security, Aerial Photography, Broadcast Media, Wildlife Observations and Agricultural Inspection. The, Aeryon Labs Scout, sUAS provide a faster, cheaper, safer, and more accurate means of collecting aerial imagery than conventional alternatives including satellites, planes or helicopters. The Scout collects photo images which can be imported into GIS databases, stitched together and used to generate 3D reconstructions.
