Founded in 1953, Community Blood Services is a not-for-profit organization devoted to serving the community’s transfusion medicine needs. Its headquarters is located in Montvale, New Jersey. The blood center collects blood, platelet and plasma donations at donor centers in Paramus, Lincoln Park and Montvale (NJ) and at other convenient fixed sites and mobile blood drives throughout the NJ/NY region.
Community Blood Services also offers cord blood banking (it operates the public New Jersey Cord Blood Bank) and bone marrow registration and donations (through The HLA Registry at Community Blood Services).
Community Blood Services provides blood and blood products to 18-plus hospitals and medical centers in northern New Jersey, New York City and southern New York State. It is a member of the AABB (formerly the American Association of Blood Banks) and America's Blood Centers (ABC).
