Durata Therapeutics Inc. established in 2009, is a clinical development stage biopharmaceutical company addressing the growing need for new therapeutics to treat infectious diseases. Durata's Vision is to become a fully integrated biopharmaceutical enterprise, focused on specialist-oriented therapeutics, in areas of high unmet need, for patients with acute illness. Durata’s lead product candidate, dalbavancin, is in late stage clinical development. Durata is initially developing dalbavancin, an intravenous antibiotic product candidate, for the treatment of patients with acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections, or ABSSSI, caused by Gram-positive bacteria, such as S. aureus, including Methicillin-Resistant and multi-drug resistant strains, and certain Streptococcal species.
