Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) commenced on 1 February 2013 and was established under the Economic Development Act 2012,
EDQ is made up of three key commercial areas:
•Residential development - facilitates economic development through working with business and industry to develop land for residential purposes. EDQ is currently undertaking a range of residential projects in South East Queensland, Central Queensland and North Queensland. It is also fast-tracking land for development in resource areas including Blackwater, Moranbah and Roma.
•Industrial development - develops, sells and leases industrial real estate to help meet demand for industrial property for sale and industrial property for lease in Queensland.
•Urban development - takes on a master developer role to work with private developers to deliver urban development and renew urban parcels of land. This team is also responsible for the delivery of the Commonwealth Games Village. EDQ may also play a role in facilitating economic develo
