Elan is een expertisecentrum voor integratie, participatie en emancipatie.
Elan denkt het meeste effect te bereiken als tweedelijnsorganisatie, dus door zich te richten op organisaties, instellingen en (lokale) overheden. Door hen te adviseren en te ondersteunen bij veranderingen, komt de expertise van Elan ten goede aan grote groepen burgers.
In onze manier van werken laten we ons leiden door de kernwoorden verbinden, doorbreken en vernieuwen. Elan gelooft in de kracht van verbinding. Dat betekent dat Elan eerst uitreikt naar mensen in al hun diversiteit en zoekt naar wat mensen bindt en dat het vertrekpunt maakt bij het zoeken naar oplossingen. Vanuit de verbinding ontstaat het vertrouwen voor doorbreken. Het doorbreken van vastgeroeste patronen, onrechtvaardigheid, taboes of verstarde verhoudingen is een belangrijke stap in het proces om jonge en oude vraagstukken vlot te trekken. En dan is er een voedingsbodem gelegd voor vernieuwing. Dat doen we met geestdrift en enthousiasme. Met Elan dus.
