Filmshebeen

Filmshebeen is a two woman creative team focused on producing independent creative documentary and fiction that is authentic and socially transformative. Annalet Steenkamp works mostly as a cinematographer and director. She is an alumni of the 10th Berlin Talent Campus and won a SAFTA for cinematography in 2013. Emma Bestall works as a director, screenwriter and editor, and is a trained anthropologist. Their first collaboration as director/screenwriter, I Afrikaner, won the Puma Britdoc catalyst and mobility awards at DIFF 2011 whilst in development, and premiered at the International Film Festival Amsterdam in 2013 to critical acclaim. Filmshebeen also runs a documentary incubation programme and facilitates high-end documentaries, providing experienced field researchers and producers, and multiplatform media content for corporate and non-profit clients. Previous clients include YLE Finland, Canal +, CBS, the BBC and Amnesty International.
