First Baptist Church began construction of its current location in 1923. Associated with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, First Baptist Church normally has two worship services each Sunday (8:30 am and 11 am). The 8:30 service is set in a less formal environment and takes place in Kelly Auditorium. The 11 am service is a traditional worship service taking place in the sanctuary. First Baptist Church was one of the first Winston-Salem churches to provide professional, full-time child care and among the first such programs to be racially integrated. Our Children's Center has a Five Star rating and a full-time, professional staff.
