Gemeente Bladel
De gemeente Bladel bestaat sinds 1 januari 1997. Toen zijn door een gemeentelijke herindeling de gemeenten Bladel c.a. en Hoogeloon c.a. samengevoegd. Hierdoor is een zeer complete gemeente gevormd met een groot aanbod van voorzieningen op het gebied van onderwijs, zorg, sport, cultuur en recreatie. Het totaal aantal arbeidsplaatsen in de gemeente Bladel is 11.010 (per 1-1-06). Daarnaast heeft de gemeente een prettig woon- en leefklimaat. De woonwijken zijn gevarieerd en ruim opgezet.
De gemeente heeft een oppervlakte van 7.573 ha en ruim 19.100 inwoners verdeeld over vijf kernen: Bladel (± 9.900 inw.), Hapert (± 5.200 inw.), Hoogeloon (± 2.150 inw.), Casteren (± 1.000 inw.) en Netersel (± 850 inw.).
De gemeente ligt in de Noord-Brabantse Kempen, ± 25 km ten zuiden van Tilburg, ± 22 km zuidwestelijk van Eindhoven en ± 25 km ten oosten van Turnhout in België. De dorpen zijn fraai gelegen temidden van uitgestrekte bos- en heidegebieden en weids agrarisch gebied.
