Generations Home Care began in 1961 as Presbyterian Social Services, founded by the New Castle Presbytery as a ministry to the residents of Wilmington’s inner city. Seven years later, one component of that ministry, aide services for the aging, was incorporated in 1968 as Generations Home Care.
Generations has continually expanded our services in order to meet the needs of those in the communities we serve. Within the first year of operation, Meals On Wheels and Community Living were added to our program. We also expanded geographically, first into Sussex County and then into Kent County, reaching an ever-increasing number of Delaware residents in need of quality home health care services.
Today Generations provides a wide range of services – including physical and occupational therapies, home health aide visits, nursing care, adult foster care, housekeeping, companion services and medical transportation – to the aging and their families.
