Hunter Primary Care (HPC) is a not for profit organisation whose members are primary health clinicians. We partner with health care providers to keep people well and out of hospital and our goal is help patients get the right care, at the right place and at the right time. Not only is this best for the patient but it is also saves the government money.
As an organisation Hunter Primary Care has more than twenty years of corporate knowledge in serving the Hunter community, firstly as the Hunter Urban Division of General Practice, then as GP Access and most recently as Hunter Medicare Local. In July 2015, Hunter Primary Care began trading under its own name.
Services provided by Hunter Primary Care include GP Access After Hours, headspace Newcastle, Hunter Partners in Recovery, Psychology services, Care Coordination services, Indigenous Health services and Rural Primary Health Services and most recently, ChooseABILITY - a new Coordination of Supports service for NDIS participants.
