The privately owned IRBM Group today represents a diversified preclinical drug discovery group operating within the biotech and pharmaceutical sector.
IRBM, the parent company, was created in 2009 as a spin-off of the Italian Merck Research laboratories. The team has an impressive productivity having delivered 25 preclinical candidates over 15 years, including small molecule, peptides and synthetic vaccines, currently in clinical development. One of this molecule is Isentress, First in Class HIV integrase inhibitor, winner of the Prix Galien USA 2008 as “Best Pharmaceutical Agent”. Other success stories close to market are Grazoprevir, HCV protease inhibitor and Niraparid, PARP inhibitor in clinical development as antitumor agent. The contributions of IRBM to those achievements are documented in over 800 papers and 100 patents.
