The James River Association (JRA) is a member supported, non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and restoration of the James River – America’s Founding River. The mission of JRA is to be guardian of the James River, to provide a voice for the River and take action to promote conservation and responsible stewardship of its natural resources. Founded in 1976, JRA works through its four core programs, River Advocacy, James Riverkeeper, Education and Outreach, and Watershed Restoration, to ensure a healthy James River ecosystem for current and future generations to enjoy.
JRA continues to focus and align its programs to address the most pressing issues facing the James River. Through the support of its members, supporters and partners, the James River Association is poised to usher in a new chapter of success for the River and the organization.
