Loci is a multi-disciplinary urban design, planning and regeneration practice based in Dublin founded by Conor Norton in 2003. Between 2004 and 2012, as Loci Ltd., it provided for the needs of the private and public sectors in the areas of urban design, architecture, planning and architecture. Loci now focuses on innovative and inclusive consultancy to bring about real change and improvement in planning and urban design practice. Recent projects have included continuing professional development for Local Authorities, national planning policy and guidance, local areas plans and Strategic Development Zones.
Architecture, Design and Construction
Architects design buildings and the spaces around buildings. They work for individuals, companies and governments, from small scale projects like private houses to large scale projects like office complexes and shopping centers. Architects do not only design the building itself, but also the landscape around it, from how the building will be positioned on the plot and how it will interact with its surroundings. Architects also need to consider the purpose of the building, the materials used for its construction and the impact the building will have on its environment.
