Mackinnon Advocates

Mackinnon Advocates is the only Stable of advocates based solely in the city of Glasgow. The Stable was established in its original form in Edinburgh in 1990 but relocated to Glasgow, Scotland's largest city, in 2007. We are today the largest group of Advocates in Scotland practising mainly in the field of Criminal Law. We are a part of The Faculty of Advocates which was initiated in the capital city of Scotland, Edinburgh. As the structure and organisation of the Faculty evolved into a model comprising units or groups of Advocates, known as Stables, Edinburgh was their natural home and has been for most of them for the hundreds of years since then. However, time does not stand still, so, moving with the times and because many of our members are based in and work mainly in Glasgow and the west of Scotland, we took the decision to break the mould and move to Glasgow.
