Mama Makers is an online marketplace, retail store and startup incubator opening in Joplin, MO, February 2015. Where Etsy meets Mama at a brick and mortar workshop, we’re changing how, and who Mom’s reach with their products. Why Joplin, Missouri? Lots of reasons! From its rich heritage in artisan home-making to it’s modern day status as an economically depressed Tornado survivor with a budding creative class, it’s the perfect place for us to set up shop. It’s sustainable, central and affordable… everything a Mama Maker wants! From the destruction of the 2011 Joplin tornado sprung a vibrant and burgeoning community of artists looking to build a new and better life for themselves. We’ve seen downtown rebuilding itself in ways that honor the heritage of a different era.
