The first restaurant was founded in 1972 in Columbus, Ohio. Max & Erma were real people with big personalities! They created an intriguing, one-of-a-kind local restaurant serving up great burgers aside a variety of American classics that attracted friends and family for great food and guaranteed good time.
Our diverse menu features distinctive award-winning burgers, our famous tortilla soup, warm-from-the-oven fresh-baked cookies, and freshly-chopped signature salads. We’ve grown over the years, but always remain true to what makes us successful—delivering a great memorable experience so that every guest and team member leaves with a smile.
