The Melbourne Indigenous Transition School is a not-for-profit organisation establishing a residential transitional school for Indigenous students from remote communitiies across Australia.
Each year from 2016, up to 20 students (around Year Seven age) will attend MITS for one year, receiving targeted numeracy and literacy in a warm home-style environment that understands their particular needs. Throughout the year, students will undertake some activities at their destination school - one of 19 Melbourne Schools that have endorsed MITS. At the end of that year, students will transition fully into their destination school, where they will receive full scholarships.
