Microcamp is a company of Grupo MC, specialized in teaching computing and English. Founded in 1977, in the city of São Paulo, by the name of Flama Microinformática, with the pionner proposal of making computing education popular in Brazil.
In 1981, having four units operating in the capital of São Paulo, it transfered its headquarters to Campinas/SP, where it got its definitive identity – Microcamp -- and opened branches in many cities of the State of São Paulo and Paraná.
In 1989, Microcamp arrived at Portugal, where it stayed for over 15 years and opened 15 schools in the main Lusitanian cities. It also installed schools in Spain and Argentina, where it operated for a few years.
In August 1994, the company launched its franchising system; from then on the company spread all over Brazil and gained national recognition. Today Microcamp has 82 schools, of which 25 are subsidiaries and 57 are franchises, where over 60 thousand studants are currently studying.
