Military Mental Health Project

Today's military members are faced with incredible challenges. Whether physical or psychological, these challenges need to be addressed. The fact of the matter is that, in most cases, the psychological elements are not given the proper amount of attention by the military. While there are some services available, they are of the conventional variety. Services such as a suicide hotline, while effective in some cases, are failing to address the growing rate of military suicide in this country and abroad. We need to start looking at new and progressive ways of addressing issues like military suicide, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety, and depression. Most importantly, we need to abandon the common idea that admitting that you may have a mental disorder or challenge as a result of your military service is a weakness.
