History:
Muthoot Pappachan Group has always had the belief that catering to the economically weaker sections of the society is important for socio-economic growth of the country. Inspired by the Group’s decades long commitment to the common man and the economically backward section, Muthoot Microfinance division was launched in 2010 as a Microfinance initiative of Muthoot Fincorp Ltd – the flagship Company of Muthoot Pappachan Group. Microfinance product had its initial launch in March 2010 from Chullaimedu Branch, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
As a part of business diversification and to offer more impetus to its microfinance operations by bringing the microfinance vertical under a separate company umbrella, Muthoot Pappachan Group founded Muthoot Microfin Ltd.
