MXARQUITECTOS is an architectural design and planning firm based in Monterrey, Mexico. MXARQ was founded by Vivivano Villarreal who previously worked with seArch Architects, and currently works for OMA in Hong Kong. In mid 2009 Carlos Davila joined MXARQ after returning from New York where he worked for Rafael Viñoly Architects. At that same time Marcelo Najera also joined MXARQ after returning from New York having finished his Masters in Architecture from Columbia University.
Architecture, Design and Construction
Architects design buildings and the spaces around buildings. They work for individuals, companies and governments, from small scale projects like private houses to large scale projects like office complexes and shopping centers. Architects do not only design the building itself, but also the landscape around it, from how the building will be positioned on the plot and how it will interact with its surroundings. Architects also need to consider the purpose of the building, the materials used for its construction and the impact the building will have on its environment.
