National Pain Foundation

Originally founded in 1998, The National Pain Foundation voluntarily suspended its operations and transferred its assets to the American Pain Foundation in 2010 for the purpose of unifying the organizations' legislative and advocacy voice. Unfortunately, the American Pain Foundation's leadership chose to disband in 2012 due to "irreparable economic circumstances", leaving a void for people with pain. In 2013, The National Pain Foundation was reformed. We recognize that the United States is a part of a much larger community - the commonality is that we are all human. This regenesis has led to a critical refocusing of the mission - to create The Global Pain Initiative and, thereby transform the way pain is fundamentally understood, assessed, and treated for every human being.
