Nuffield is Southampton's leading producing theatre company, based at the Nuffield Theatre on the Highfield campus at the University of Southampton.
Nuffield is led by Samuel Hodges, supported by a team of associates: directors Blanche McIntyre, Natalie Abrahami and Michael Longhurst, designer Tom Scutt and playwright Adam Brace. We develop and produce work with some of the UK’s most exciting and dynamic regional theatres, including Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse and Royal & Derngate, Northampton. We are delighted to have been awarded Regional Theatre of the Year 2015 at The Stage Awards.
In March 2015, it was announced that Nuffield will be the operating company of the North Building in Southampton’s new £25 million arts venue, whilst continuing to run the Nuffield Theatre on the University of Southampton's Highfield Campus. The new building will include a flexible 447 seat main house theatre, a 135 seat studio, screening facilities, rehearsal and workshop spaces, and a café bar and bistro.
