The Office of Sustainable Design (OSD) is a limited liability company practicing in the fields of Architecture, Engineering, Building Science and Project Management. Founded in 2012 in post-war Libya, OSD is based in Tripoli and is built upon the ambitions and experience of its co-founders Haitam Alageli and Sarah Elmusrati.
OSD is a multi-disciplinary consultancy firm that draws on knowledge from all aspects of building design and construction. Our designs are informed by science and engineering, based on actual physical data collected from the site. The sustainable design approach forces us to re-think how we design, construct, and operate buildings. We think about the building’s entire life-cycle, beyond the immediate needs of the client or users.

Architects do not only design the building itself, but also the landscape around it, from how the building will be positioned on the plot and how it will interact with its surroundings. Architects also need to consider the purpose of the building, the materials used for its construction and the impact the building will have on its environment.
