Mission: People for Urban Progress (PUP) is an Indianapolis based 501c3 Non-Profit organization that advances connectivity, environmental awareness, and good design.
PUP is a do tank. We turn useless into useful. We rescue discarded materials, redesigning them for public benefit. Our hand-built goods from Indianapolis fund big projects and big ideas that improve urban spaces.
PUP was founded on the premise to make the change one wishes to see a reality, which is exactly what founders Michael Bricker and Maryanne O'Malley did. Natives of Indianapolis frustrated by their cities wasteful practices, struggling transit and underused public spaces, they set out to make a difference for their city. After learning that the RCA Dome was slated for demolition and all of the 13 acres of plastic from the roof was set out to the landfills, the duo got to work to incorporate this otherwise useless resource into something useful and PUP was formed! Quickly transformation begun and the plastic was turned into fashion
