WHO WE ARE
People’s Theatre Project is a Washington Heights based arts and social justice organization founded in 2009. Our team of highly trained teaching artists works with diverse populations in schools and community organizations across New York City.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
All people are born artists. We all have a voice to share. Access to the arts is critical to the development of creative and collaborative human beings.
WHAT WE DO
People’s Theatre Project creates the space and provides the tools for people of all ages to become community actors - expressive and critically thinking global citizens.
People’s Theatre Project’s mission is to unite members of under-represented communities and raise awareness of their shared struggles through the personally and socially transformative process of collaborative theatre making. PTP envisions Washington Heights, its home base, as a model for community building through the arts.
