La SAS PIVERT a été créée le 29 mai 2012 dans le cadre du programme « Investissements d’Avenir ». Il s’agit d’une société de droit privé issue d'un partenariat public-privé qui a notamment pour objet de porter l’ITE P.I.V.E.R.T. (Institut de Transition Energétique Picardie Innovations Végétales Enseignements et Recherches Technologiques). Cet ITE a pour finalité le développement d'une filière française compétitive dans le secteur de la chimie du végétal à base d'une matière première renouvelable prometteuse et compétitive : la biomasse d'origine oléagineuse. Pour atteindre cet objectif, la SAS PIVERT (i) s’est doté d’un programme de recherche précompétitif, le programme GENESYS, basé sur un appel à projet annuel émis par la société auprès de partenaires académiques, (ii) est en charge de la valorisation des travaux issus du programme de recherche précompétitif GENESYS et du montage des projets de maturation, et (iii) construit le BIOGIS Center, plateforme technologique modulaire et évolutive dotée d’équipemen
