In 1968 the Katsoulis family opened their first fish market in the city´s west end. The business flourished into a wholesale and distribution and by 1976 the family needed a location to expand its business.
At the foot of the Jacques Cartier bridge, they found an old building previously owned by Gatehouse.
In 1987 they renovated the building and made Montreal´s first Fish Centre. Wholesale, retail and catering services all under one roof. La Mer is the place for fish and seafood in Montreal.
