Rather Architecture was established in Salt Lake City, UT in 1972 by John Rather, founder and mentor. The practice has produced design for the construction of nearly 1,000 building projects.
The firm’s broad range of work includes commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, religious, and residential.
In 2012 Rather Architecture formed RDX, a networked group led by John Rather, NH Rather, Chao Xie, and Ralph Spencer Steenblik. The group focuses on using advanced computation for design. RDX has offices in Salt Lake City and Los Angeles.
Architecture, Design and Construction
Architects design buildings and the spaces around buildings. They work for individuals, companies and governments, from small scale projects like private houses to large scale projects like office complexes and shopping centers. Architects do not only design the building itself, but also the landscape around it, from how the building will be positioned on the plot and how it will interact with its surroundings.
