READ Nepal READ Nepal was established in 1991 under the leadership of Dr. Antonia Neubauer, who was inspired by a local trekking guide who had told her that he wanted to see a library built in his village. After 15 years of successful program implementation READ Nepal has been awarded with Access to Learning Award 2006 by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Thereafter on 2007, READ Global headquarters in Washington DC got the replication grant from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and this model has been replicated in other countries – India and Bhutan and now in the process of expansion in other countries.
