Owner David Chesnutt began Rocky Creek Sporting Clays as a sporting clay facility for the youth to promote the sport. After many years with his children enjoying the sport and starting a team known as The Rocky Creek Clay Dusters, he opened to the public in 2008. The sport has continued to grow as well as the youth program. He and several others began the South Carolina Youth Shooting Program. David is currently still president of the youth shooting program. In SC it has grown into many teams - private schools, 4-H and public school across the state. In 2012 at the SC Youth Shoot Championship there were 376 youth shooters participating. Rocky Creek continues in our effort to help our youth learn about the sport. We maintain a sporting clay facility open to the public near Richburg, SC.
