Save the Dalmatians was founded in 1996 to provide resources for Dalmatian rescue in the wake of Disney's 1996 "101 Dalmatians" which set off massive overbreeding of Dalmatians by backyard breeders. Save the Dalmatians became incorporated as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in 1998. We are an all-volunteer organization that rescues Dalmatians from Southern California shelters or from owners who no longer want them to find them new homes, assists owners in rehoming their unwanted Dalmatians, promotes the spaying and neutering of pet Dalmatians and provides information to the public about the Dalmatian breed. We hope to add to our program other breeds impacted by the media.
Volunteers and foster homes always needed. We are funded solely by private donations and receive no government support. Donations to help us care for our rescued Dalmatians are always welcome. Our paypal email address is rescue@savethedals.org
