The Solar segment develops production technologies to manufacture solar cell concepts for crystalline and thin-film solar technology. This segment also focuses on developing, assembling, and commissioning equipment used in wet-chemical processes, such as cleaning, etching, and deposition machinery. The Semiconductor segment develops and manufactures equipment that uses tunnel magnetic resistance technology for semiconductor applications. Its equipment is used to process wafers for magnetoresistive random-access memory, thin film heads, and sensors. The company was founded in 1995 and is based in Kahl am Main, Germany.
