What began as The Breakfast Club, in 1976, was incorporated as The Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce on December 19, 1989. The Chamber is a 200+ member- strong, staffed organization, with a Board of Directors, dedicated to providing business development tools and service, as advocates to local businesses and business people. The Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce is organized for the following purposes: •To advance the economic, industrial, professional, and civic welfare of the Smithville, Missouri area. •To promote business and community growth and development by promoting economic programs designed to strengthen and expand the income potential of all businesses within the trade area.
