La Sociedad de Arquitectos del Uruguay (SAU) es el gremio de los arquitectos del país desde el 22 de mayo de 1914, con personería jurídica otorgada por el Poder Ejecutivo el 24 de junio de 1921.
Juntos conformamos un espacio formal de libre integración para el intercambio, debate y resolución de los diversos aspectos que definen el rol del arquitecto y las problemáticas que plantea el ejercicio profesional como individuo, como profesional universitario y ciudadano.
Integrada por más de 2300 socios de todo el país, la estructura de trabajo conforma un organigrama que incluye autoridades nacionales, comisiones delegadas departamentales, comisiones asesoras, programas y secretarías.

Architects do not only design the building itself, but also the landscape around it, from how the building will be positioned on the plot and how it will interact with its surroundings. Architects also need to consider the purpose of the building, the materials used for its construction and the impact the building will have on its environment.
