After a decade of service to film making in South Africa, Jim Petrak (Owner and Head Engineer) founded this vibrant audio post production company that specializes in the design of big screen sound to motion picture
Jim has mixed and designed sound tracks for many award winning big screen features and has worked closely on numerous international productions with directors Terry George (Hotel Rwanda), Bronwyn Hughs (Stander), Phillip Noyce (Catch a Fire), Gavin Hood (Tsotsi), among many others.
Since the opening of its doors in late 2008 Sound Surfers has won 2 AMAA's (African Movie Academy Awards) for best achievement in Sound, been nominated 3 times for best sound in a feature film at the SAFTA's (South African Film and Television Awards) and has quickly become one of SA's most respected and sought after audio production companies.
