Since 1996, the Southeast Michigan Community Alliance (SEMCA) has been a leader in workforce development programs, serving residents and employers in Wayne and Monroe counties (excluding the city of Detroit). SEMCA is the region's Michigan Works! Agency (MWA), with seven Michigan Works Service Centers located in Dearborn, Grosse Pointe, Highland Park, Livonia, Monroe, Southgate, and Wayne.
SEMCA also serves as one of 15 substance abuse treatment coordinating agencies created by the state to administer block grant and substance abuse treatment and prevention services to ensure that individuals in our region have easy access to the right treatment for their success.
